Booking, payment & changes
When will I receive a confirmation of my reservation?

You will receive a final confirmation by email within 24 hours. Of course, something can always go wrong with the email; if you have not received the confirmation within one working day, please contact us. 

Can I reserve a camping pitch or rental accommodation option?

That is definitely possible. You can take an option for up to 2 weeks. When booking online, please indicate in the comments that it is an option. You will then receive an option confirmation from us. Please contact us yourself before the expiry date.

What about payments?

After you book your vacation you will receive a reservation confirmation. This contains the total price of the reservation and the exact payment terms.

Payment terms
Two weeks after booking you pay 50% of the total amount, the remainder you pay one month before the arrival date. Reservations made within 4 weeks before arrival are subject to full payment in one installment on the day of reservation. 

Forgot to pay?
Then contact the reception as soon as possible. After exceeding these payment deadlines, you will receive a reminder and possibly a reminder.

Do I get a confirmation of my payment?

You will receive a confirmation of a payment. If we have not received a payment, you will always first receive a message from us. A reservation is only cancelled after a payment reminder. You can always view your reservation in your My Molenhof

I have not taken out cancellation insurance, what now?

If you have not taken out cancellation insurance with us or elsewhere, we apply the terms and conditions of Leisure Insurances, and you will pay the following percentages upon cancellation:

  • cancellation more than 3 months before arrival 15%
  • cancellation between 2 and 3 months before arrival 50%
  • cancellation between 1 and 2 months before arrival 75%
  • cancellation less than 1 month before arrival 90%
I do have cancellation insurance, what should I do?

Notify us as soon as possible that you want to cancel, you will then receive a cancellation invoice for your insurance from us. 

Do you accept discount cards?

You can camp with us using various discount cards, such as the Camping Key Card, ACSI, Obelink Card, and ADAC Sparcard. This gives you the opportunity to book at an attractive price.

Do you have seasonal spots available?

No, we do not have annual or seasonal sites available.

How can I see which campsite pitches and accommodations are still available?

You can check availability via https://www.demolenhof.eu/search-and-book. Here you can filter by type of accommodation, dates, and the number of guests. Then click on 'View on map' to see the available spots on the map for your selected period.

Can I choose a preferential location for my camping pitch or accommodation?

Yes, you can. You can make your own preferred booking via the map when booking online. The cost for a preferred location is €5 for all bookings.

Arrival & departure
From what time am I allowed to arrive?

Arrival (Check-in)

In some periods it is possible to book an early check-in for an additional fee, this is only possible last minute and for camping spots. This is not possible for rental accommodations.

I have a guest staying during the holiday, is that allowed?

Guests are always welcome. A guest must be registered at the reception. The cost is €6 per night (low season) €7 (high season), excluding tourist tax €0.90 per person per night. Guests' cars cannot be parked on the campsite, not even for unloading; luggage carts are available.

Can I bring a 2nd car?

A 2nd car is only allowed on arrival and departure day briefly on the campsite for unloading, after which it can be parked in the visitor parking lot. Space in the visitor parking lot is limited, we cannot guarantee that there will be enough space for 2nd cars. 

What are the departure times?

With a lazy checkout you may stay until 8:00 PM. A lazy checkout is not possible with rental accommodations.

What is a lazy checkout?

For many camping arrangements, a lazy checkout is included, your confirmation will state whether you have a lazy checkout.

If a lazy checkout is not included in your reservation, you can add it last minute during your stay, if your campsite has not yet been reserved. Costs for a lazy checkout vary per period. More information can be obtained at the reception during your stay.

With a lazy checkout you may stay until 8:00 PM. A lazy checkout is not possible with rental accommodations.

Until what time can I arrive?

The reception is open until 5:00 PM (low season) or 6:00 PM (high season). Have you booked and are you arriving after the reception has closed? Please make sure your stay is paid for and you have provided the car license plate number. We will then turn on the electricity for you in advance, so you can drive straight to your spot. 

How do I know the route to my pitch or accommodation?

In the De Molenhof app you can find your personal directions to your pitch or accommodation. 

How do the gates work?

The gates works through license plate registration. The gates are open between 6:00 and 22:00.

What is a contactless check-in?

A contactless check-in means that if you have given your license plate number in advance, you can drive straight on to your pitch or accommodation from your arrival time. You do not have to report to reception. As soon as you pass through the barriers, you are checked in. If you have any questions, you are always welcome at reception.

Camping
How many amperes of electricity do the camping spots have?

All pitches have 8 ampere power (approx. 1840 Watts). You can possibly upgrade this at the reception to 12 or 16 ampere. Many household appliances, such as a kettle or Senseo, quickly consume between 1400 and 2000 Watts. Therefore, we highly recommend using special camping equipment, as it is more energy efficient.

Can I come with a camper?

You may camp with a camper on all camping pitches. There is a camper service station next to sanitary building 5 where you can dispose of grey water.

I have a campsite on a car-free field, where should I park my car?

Field A and B are car-free, on these fields the car may only be driven onto the field on the day of arrival and departure, afterwards you can park your car in the parking area around or next to the field. Each spot has a numbered parking space, so your car does not have to be parked in the general visitor parking outside the campsite.

I don't want my car on the camping pitch, where can I park the car?

If you do not want your car on your camping pitch, you can park it in the visitor parking lot. We cannot guarantee spaces in the visitor parking lot. You are never allowed to park your car on empty camping pitches.

How large are the camping pitches?

The camping pitches are approximately 100 m² to 120 m².

Which groundsheet is allowed?

Awning

All materials may be used under your awning. The awning is a tent that is directly attached to your camping unit. Prefer grass-permeable material over single-use plastic. Together we make a difference for the environment.

Canopy

If you have an awning and a canopy, no material is allowed under the canopy. If you only have a canopy and no awning, then you may place material here.

Groundsheet is not allowed in other places on your camping pitch. This keeps it pleasant for the guests who come after you. 

May I place a small extra tent?

An extra small tent (max. 4 m²) is not a problem, you may place it for free.

May I put up a party tent on the field?

A party tent is allowed on your own spot, as long as you use it instead of an awning. If you have reserved multiple spots with a group, a party tent is only allowed if it fits on one of the reserved spots. If you have no space on your spot, you must reserve an additional camping spot. To avoid disturbing other guests, it is not allowed to place the party tent on the field. 

Can I bring the barbecue?

Barbecues are allowed everywhere. Fire pits are not allowed.

How can I set up my television?

Each camping spot has its own TV connection. To use our channel offering, you need to connect a coax cable yourself. After connecting the cable, you can scan for channels in your TV menu. For setting up your TV, visit www.caiway.nl Make sure your setting is on digital. Frequency: 369.000 MHz and network ID: 2642. 

I would like to have an inflatable pool on my camping spot, is that allowed?

No, that is not allowed. Only pools for the very small children with a diameter of max. 1 meter are permitted.

Is there a freezer for cooling elements?

No, there is not.

Where can I buy gas bottles?

You can change gas cylinders at the reception.

- Refill: € 25,00
- New gas cylinder: € 55,00

Are fire pits allowed?

No, fire pits are not allowed on the campsite.

Accommodations
Can I put an extra tent or party tent next to my accommodation?

No, you may not put up an additional tent or party tent next to your accommodation.

Are pets allowed in the accommodations?

Yes, pets are allowed in our accommodations.

Please note: dogs are not permitted in our facilities (PlonsPlas, sanitary facilities, Plaza, reception & camp shop)

Is bed linen provided in the accommodation?

No, bed linen is not provided as standard in the accommodation. However, you can book it as an optional extra for €9 per set.

Facilities & activities
Our daughter cannot swim yet, aren't a swimming pool, fishing pond, and PlonsPlas dangerous?

There is a fence around the fishing pond to prevent small children from wandering in. You cannot access the swimming pool without a barcode card. The PlonsPlas is enclosed with a fence and a gate.

Do you also rent out refrigerators?

We rent refrigerators, which you can book as an extra with your reservation. Refrigerators are standard in all rental accommodations.

My little son wants to fish in the fishing pond, does he need a permit?

You are allowed to fish in the fishing pond on the campsite without a permit. The pond mainly contains carp.

How does it work with hot water and showers, do I need tokens or something else for this?

Showers and hot water are free. The showers have timers; you get 6 minutes of hot water. The sanitary buildings are not playgrounds, for this reason, the showers in the sanitary building S4 (near the PlonsPlas) are closed between 12:00 and 18:00. In other buildings, the showers are open. 

Can I rent bikes?

You can rent bikes for adults at the campsite and we also have pedal karts for rent. We do not rent children's bikes, but we do have child seats.

Where can I do groceries?

At the campsite, there is a camp shop for fresh sandwiches, chilled drinks, and "forgotten groceries".

In Weerselo (1 km) there is a supermarket.

Is the reception open daily?

During the camping season the reception is open daily, you can find the current opening hours here or in our app.

Is there a launderette?

 In our laundry room at S1, you can do your daily laundry 24 hours a day. Our modern Electrolux machines ensure your clothes are fresh and dry in no time.

The washing machines and dryers operate with special tokens. These are available at the reception, the shop, and the Plaza:

  • Washing machine: € 7.00 per cycle
    Includes detergent.
    Program duration: approx. 45 minutes.
  • Dryer: € 3.00 per cycle
    Program duration: approx. 30 minutes.

When is animation offered?

During all Dutch school holidays, the entertainment team runs a full day’s programme of activities for different age groups. Outside the holidays, there is a more relaxed but still varied programme. Participation is always free of charge.

Practical information & house rules
May I bring a dog?

You may bring a maximum of 2 dogs per pitch. Dogs are allowed on all pitches. Dogs must be on a leash on the campsite and you must bring a bag or scoop. The dog can be walked via the main entrance. Next to Sanitary Building 4 on field C there is also an exit (no entrance). Through this gate you can quickly access the walking area and the canal behind the campsite. Dogs are also allowed in the (tent) lodges, family house, and camping cabins.

Please note: dogs are not permitted in our facilities (PlonsPlas, sanitary facilities, Plaza, reception & camp shop)

What about visitors?

Visitors pay a €2.00 visitor fee. There are a limited number of visitor parking spaces. Your visitor's car is not allowed on the campsite. If your guests would also like to swim in our pools, there is an additional charge of €4. They will be given a QR code for access at reception and do not need to do anything for facial recognition.

How about WIFI?

The WiFi password is: supertof.

There is a wireless internet network at the campsite. You can access the internet from your own spot with your own laptop. This network has coverage of about 95%.

For the free WIFI, you need a password. The password is: supertof. Note that we offer so-called ‘camping WiFi’. Our WiFi network is therefore not suitable for downloading movies or watching HD livestreams. But sharing your holiday photos via WhatsApp and social media or keeping up with your email works perfectly fine! 

The quality will always depend on the network traffic. Sending and receiving emails is only possible with an online email account. After 24 hours you will be automatically logged out, after which you need to log in again yourself.

We use an open network, the responsibility lies with the guest, so be careful with passwords and login codes. 

Can I charge my electric car at the campsite?

Next to sanitary building 5 (between field A and field B) you will find charging stations for electric cars. Do not leave your car parked after it has been charged. License plates are registered in our reservation system. You are only allowed to charge cars at the charging stations. It is forbidden to charge on your own pitch/rental accommodation or on empty spots, etc. You can use our charging stations with most well-known charging cards. 

Is there an AED device available at the campsite?

There definitely is. The AED device hangs next to the entrance of the reception. 

Can I have my newspaper or packages delivered to the campsite?

It is not possible to have your newspaper temporarily delivered to the campsite. If you have a subscription, you can usually read your newspaper digitally at your holiday address.

Packages can be delivered to the reception; it is not possible to have packages delivered that require a signature. Packages are placed in a location accessible to everyone. We are not responsible for lost packages. Packages can only be picked up during the reception's opening hours.

I have lost something, where are the lost and found items?

The lost and found items are in a basket at the reception. Lost and found items in the swimming pool are in a basket at the entrance of the swimming pool. 

Are barbecues allowed?

Barbecues are allowed everywhere. Campfires and fire baskets are not allowed.

Are hoverboards, fatbikes and electric scooters allowed at the park?

No, the use and possession of hoverboards, fatbikes and electric scooters are not permitted at our park. We highly value the safety and peace of our guests. Due to the speed and safety risks associated with these vehicles, we have decided to prohibit them throughout the entire premises.

I have a tick, what should I do?

After a walk in nature, it is important to carefully check your children, your pets and yourself for ticks. Especially if you venture off the beaten path, the chances of getting a tick bite are relatively high. On the website www.tekenradar.nl you can find extensive information about what to do in case of a tick bite.

I would like to send a card, where is the mailbox?

There is no mailbox on the campsite. You can drop off your mail at the reception. The receptionists will give the mail to the letter carrier.

Is Camping de Molenhof liable for any damage or injury resulting from my stay on the property?

No, Camping de Molenhof is not liable for damage or injury as a result of your stay on the site, damage experienced through the use of the facilities on this site or damage or injury caused by man, animal or natural disasters.

Is there public transportation nearby?

Camping de Molenhof is easily accessible by bus. The main bus stop in the village is Bornsestraat, Weerselo, located just a 10-minute walk from the campsite. This stop is served by RRReis buses and provides a convenient connection between the major railway stations in the region.

The primary bus route is Line 66, which offers a direct connection between Almelo and Oldenzaal:

  • From Almelo Station: Ideal for guests traveling from the direction of Deventer, Zwolle, or Amsterdam. The bus ride takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes.

  • From Oldenzaal Station: The quickest route for travelers coming from Enschede or Germany. You will reach the Weerselo stop in about 15 minutes.

When will the campground be open?

Camping de Molenhof is open from the weekend before Easter through to September.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

In an emergency, call 112 and report serious incidents immediately to reception. If reception is closed, please call +31-541-661165 and press 9. Always tell our staff where the accident or fire is taking place, whether the emergency services are on their way, and whether anyone has been injured. Our staff can direct the emergency services to the scene.

Are drones allowed?

No, drones are not allowed to fly over our campsite. However, the park itself is allowed to use drones, for promotional purposes.

What is the maximum speed in the campground?

A maximum speed of 5km/h is allowed on the campsite. Cyclists and pedestrians have the right of way.

De Molenhof app
I am unable to log in to De Molenhof App what can I do?

Make sure you are going to log in with the same email address you used to make the reservation. Make sure your password is correct. If neither is working, please contact us.

How can I use facial recognition?

Access to our swimming pool uses facial recognition. This access control works just like unlocking your phone with your face, providing you with quick and easy entry to the pool.

Please ensure that you have uploaded photos of yourself and your fellow travelers in De Molenhof app before arrival. This can be done starting 7 days before your arrival, allowing you to use our facilities immediately upon arrival.

How do I upload the photos?

  • Open De Molenhof app and ensure you are logged in.
  • Click on ‘My Molenhof’.
  • Go to your reservation.
  • Add your travel companions.
  • Go to Facial Recognition and upload a photo of yourself and your fellow travelers.

Digital key
The digital lock is not working, what could be wrong?
  • You are not logged in to De Molenhof app.
  • You do not have the latest version of De Molenhof app. Please ensure the app is updated to the latest version and log in again.
  • Your Bluetooth and location services are turned off; please enable both in your phone settings.
  • You have arrived too early; unfortunately, the digital lock only activates at your scheduled arrival time.
  • You are holding your smartphone too close to the lock. The connection is recognized as long as you are within a few meters of the door.

Have you checked the points above and is it still not working? Please report to the reception desk.

How do I open and close the lock with the digital key?

The key is visible by logging into De Molenhof app. Please ensure that your location services and Bluetooth are enabled in the app settings.

Arrived at your accommodation?
Open De Molenhof app, click the ‘Digital key’ button, and hold your phone near the lock. Once the green light flashes, you can push the handle down to open the door.

Leaving your accommodation?
Don’t forget to follow the same steps to lock the door. To engage the lock, you must pull the handle upwards while using the digital key in the app.

Quick Step-by-Step Guide

  • Open De Molenhof app.
  • Log in via the 'Mijn Molenhof' button (if you haven't already).
  • On the homepage, you will see the 'Digital key' button.
  • A pop-up notification will appear, giving you the option to open or close the lock.
  • Hold your phone near the digital lock and click the button in the app.
    When the green light flashes, you can open the door. Please note: To lock the accommodation again, you will also need your phone and must pull the handle upwards to activate the lock.
Can I install the digital key on multiple devices?

Yes, this is possible. You must then log in with the same login information.

From when is the digital key visible in the app?

The digital key will be visible in the app as soon as your booking is made and you are logged into De Molenhof app. You can use the key between the following check-in and check-out times:
